【Optionの設定について】 online.exeを実行した後の画面にあるOptionでPC環境に最適な状態でプレイするためのグラフィックやサウンドを設定することができる。PSOBBは要件スペックが低いので設定を無視されがちであるが、CPU占有率が非常に高いソフトであるためインストールしてある常駐ソフトやOS環境でパフォーマンスが相当に落ちてしまう。 ? アダプター名 使用しているグラボ名とドライバ名が表示される。この名前で処理速度などのスペックを検索することができる。注意点は5000系から7000系までのGeForceではカラー8bit256階調でAA機能がないため設定次第でEp2のプラントや海岸で画像が欠けたり縞模様のマッハバンドが出やすいということ。8000以降で問題が出た場合はグラボ名ではなくチップ名(Ge8000以降は旧チップを使ったリネーム商法で製品型番があてにならないため。8800GSならばG92)をWikiPediaで検索した方が良い。ただしnVidia全般でドライバを最新にすれば問題は解決するはず。Radeonではx1200以降ならAvivoのマッハバンド低減機能があるため問題は起こりにくい。 ? 描画:画面サイズ 画面サイズ(解像度)を選択する。当然、解像度が高ければ画面はきれいになるが文字は小さくなるため見にくくなる。サイズを上げるよりウィンドウモードにして引き伸ばした方が処理負担は軽い。 ? 描画:画面の色 グラデーションなどに使う色のbit数を決める。実は画面サイズよりも処理能力が必要な項目で、描画項目全てに対して速度の影響を与えてしまう。G86チップまでなら16を選択すること推奨。ただしマッハバンドが出ている場合は32に上げ、他の描画機能を落とす方がストレスにならない。 ? 描画:チェックボックス 「ウィンドウモード」のチェックを外すとフルスクリーンモードになる。フルスクリーンモードで問題が出るOS環境ならチェックを入れる。また普通はウィンドウモードの方が処理速度も速い。 「V-Syncを持つ」にチェックを入れると画面の垂直同調機能(グラボには普通この機能がある)を働かせることで描画のたびに発生する同期遅れ(画面のちらつき)をなくすことができる。しかしディスプレイ能力に合わせるため描画速度は落ちる場合が多く、画面も暗めになることがある。普通はグラボのドライバで設定されている・ノート型の場合は最適化されているのでいじる必要はない。オンボ+外付けディスプレイの人で画面のちらつきが気になる場合のみチェックする。 「ワードラップ機能」表示する単語の途中などで折り返さないための機能をONにするチェック。英文を入力することが多い人はチェックするが、日本語では文の頭がいきなり意味不明に改行されることがある。 ? グラフィック どうしようもないロースペックで遊ぶ場合だけ「ローエンド」にチェック。それ以外はカスタムをクリックして詳細設定 「フレームスキップ」普通は0。遊んでいてコマ落ちを確認したら順次1 2と上げて行く。 「高度な描画処理」写り込みの表現をするかどうかの設定で当然のことながら処理が重くなる要因。Ep2では特に描画の美しさの差が顕著で、有効化すると透明化しているシノワやトラバサミの表現に戸惑うかもしれない。 「低解像度テクスチャ」64×2^nの正方形テクスチャしか扱えないローエンドなグラボではチェックを入れる。それ以外ではONにすると逆に負担が高くなる。テクスチャとは画像の貼り付け。必要になるたび読み込んでは拡大して張り付けているためメモリの制約も受けやすい。メモリ仕様がDDR2以前・256M以下のメモリを持つグラボではON必須。 「可変フレームレート」グラボがバッファを処理しきれなかった場合、自動的にフレームスキップさせて次の描画に移る機能。マルチモードでプレイする場合は非常に重要。マルチコアCPUでミドルレンジ以上のグラボでない限りON推奨。ソロで遊ばない人・デロルやガルグリがやばい人・ギゾな人はON必須。 ? ディテール ここを変えるだけでは描画速度に大きな差は出ないはずだが、画面の色・サイズ・クリッピング距離の項目や体の向きを変えながらプレイするキャラ(HU?)との兼ね合いで飛躍的に処理負担が高くなるため、こだわりがないなら低でガマンしとこうという項目。ハイスペックな人はプレイする好みや目の疲労度で選択。 「影」低でも十分な機能。高にすると地形にも影が反映されるようになるので画面がうるさくて見づらい場合も低にしよう。 「エネミー」クリッピング距離に処理負担が左右される項目。 「地形」これもクリッピング距離に負担が左右される。高だと詳細だが目は疲れる。 ? クリッピング距離 どの距離まで描画するかの設定で、描画処理に関しては最も負担となる項目。 ? フォグ処理 色の濃淡ではなく霧のようなぼかし効果で3Dを表現する処理の仕方を決める。グラボに搭載されているシェダー数と質によって選ぶと良い。 「頂点フォグ」ポリゴンの位置から色と位置をあらかじめ計算して描画するので非常に負担が軽い。ただし必要以上に霞がかかったようになることもある。 「ピクセルフォグ」画面上の全てのドットを書き換えるため処理負担が最も大きいが、自然な透明感が出せる。 「フォグエミュレーション」シェダーがないVGAでフォグをソフト処理で表現する方法。CPUへの負担が非常に高くなるため選ばない方がマシかもです。 ? サウンド 実はBGMが処理負担を非常に大きくしている。「ワープに入ると落ちる」のもこれが隠れた原因だったり。必要がない限りはカスタムからBGM off /SE onの設定を選ぼう(チャレではこれが必須設定)。 「グローバルフォーカスサウンド」にチェックを入れるとウィンドウモードでPSOがアクティブでない状態でもBGMとSEが流れっぱなしになる。地蔵になりながらPC上で他の作業をしている時にもメールの到達音が欲しいなんていう時にはチェックしておく。 ? フォント システムにデフォルトで入っているフォント以外を選ぶと、それをインストールしていない相手側PCでは箱の並びにしか見えないので注意(うちらが韓国プレイヤーの会話を見ている状態ですね)。 『で、ノートなんだけど推奨の設定は結局何?』 画面サイズ ディスプレイの比率が設定と合っていること前提。高すぎない程度で。 画面の色 16bit ウィンドウモード ON V-Sync OFF ワードラップ機能 お好きに グラフィック カスタムから フレームスキップ0(コマ落ちしてたら増やす) 高度な描画処理 OFF 低解像度テクスチャ OFF 可変フレームレート ON ディテール 影 低 ディテール エネミー 低 ディテール 地形 中か低 クリッピング距離 低(がんばっても中) フォグ処理 頂点フォグ サウンド カスタムから BGM OFF SE ON グローバルフォーカスサウンド お好きに
